AMC is debuting a new series November 6, a tense drama "Hell on Wheels" set in post Civil War America. It may seem like a cliche, but one of the main characters is an ex-Confederate soldier bent on avenging the brutal rape and murder of his wife during the war. This story line definitely recalls the recent Civil War movie "Johnathan Hex" based on a graphic novel. Actually the similarity ends there.

Another main character, played by rapper Common, is an emancipated slave trying to make his way in the West. Of course, these two characters meet.

Both these men become involved with the building of the transcontinental railroad which provides a vital backdrop to the story, hence the name "Hell on Wheels."

The drama promises to be gripping and certainly will be if the producers' previous successes with "Breaking Bad" and "The Walking Dead" are any indication.

If you would like more information about the cast, characters, and storyline or would like to see the vivid trailer, check out:

Guy, I like the overall show, but its supposed to be set in 1865 and they're using 66 Winchester Yellowboys. Who ever is the advisor on the army troops should be shot. especially the officers. They are not even close to being in the proper uniform. now grant you, its a frontier post, but the costume on the officer is laughable. I sent the production company a letter and where to find the proper uniforms for the troops. I also made it clear that at no time did the cavalry use Winchesters. during that time period they should be equiped with Spencer Carbines. s otime will tell if they pay any atterntion to the complaint. Personally, I doubt it. I know how directors can be. Asses.
