Hi from Denver. I grew up in Missouri. Went to college in "little Dixie" and have visited the battlefields of Gettysburg, Vicksburg, Antietam, Pea Ridge, Ft. Davidson, Glorietta Pass, NM and Picacho Peak, Az. I find that the more I learn, the more questions I have. My favorite Civil War books are those of Stephan Sears, especially Gettysburg and Antietam. I hope I can get some insight on the questions I've always had.

Welcome! I grew up in Colorado Springs and spent many days up in Denver with family. Sounds like you've gotten to see most of the important trans-trans-Mississippi Western battlefields! I'm afraid I've only been to Glorietta Pass. Mark

Thanks for the welcome. I was lucky that I got to travel on business up the Rio Grande from Las Cruces to Santa Fe, so I could see most of the route the Confederates took on their ill-fated trip toward Colorado and the little Union forts on the way. I know it's not Civil War related (other than a Chivington link), but I would really like to see Sand Creek. I understand it's accessible now. Griz.
