Civil War Soldier's Ring Returned to Family 148 Years Later - ABC
  I'm not sure that I would regard a sixth cousin four times removed as: "Family." (George W. Bush is a distant cousin of both Albert Gore and John Kerry.) But I guess thats as close as they could come nowadays.


Capt Levi Schlegel (1841 - 1932) - Find A Grave Memorial

  According to the CWSS, Schlegel mustered out of the 198th Pennsylvania as a private, not a captain.

TD, according to Find-A-Grave as well he was a private. Like that they had his burial record posted. Wanna see if I can't look up yesterday's Washington Post and see what the article there said.
