Hi!  I'm seventeen, and I have never been in a reenactment, or even seen one, but I really want to get involved in them, because I've read books involving civil war reenactments, and they seem very interesting!  I live in Stafford, Virginia, and I have no clue how to get started.  Any help?

Welcome to the forums.

My first suggestion would be to try checking out the Reenacting and Living History section of the Forums, hopefully there may be something there to help you get an idea on how to get started with reenacting. Beyond that there are a couple of links sites I use heavily that have links for reenacting.

http://jimjanke.com/civilwar/civilwar.htm

http://www.civilwarhome.com/indexcivilwarinfo.htm

Both will also have links to sutlers/vendors which will be useful to you for finding online sutlers from which to purchase the various items you will need.

Beyond that look in your local area for reenacting groups and talk to them about what they require to join. They should be more than happy to help you out.
