The Bangor Museum and History Center in Bangor, Maine has launched an interactive online civil war exhibit featuring Augustus Hamlin's medicine chest from the Civil War. The address is http://www.bangormuseum.org/medicine-chest.html . Each item in the chest can be hovered over to see a close up image, and can be clicked on to get an in-depth description of what the medicines and items in the chest were used for.
EDIT: I had to put a space after period on the web link. The link would not have worked before. Very Sorry!

You might want to send someone over to the Fort at No. 4 in Charleston, NH. The fort is actually a reproduction of the original French and Indian War period fort at No. 4(which is today Charleston, NH), but strangely enough the visitor center/gift shop has had on display a book on Civil War medicine and a few items there of. Don't know if any of that would be of interest or help to your museum.
