Fuller, in Laramie we learned to walk leaning at a 45 degree angle.  If the wind stopped blowing, we would have fallen over.  I had no idea that snow falls vertically until I came east and saw it with my own eyes.  I mean, all the trees and fenceposts are coated white on the west side and have tiny little snowdrifts on the east side... like Pickett's description of the boys hiding behind the tree down on the Peninsula.

Sorry to say I never made it to Dubois, which we pronounced DOO-boyce.  Shows how much we knew.

Laramie is pretty in the summer too.  The University of Wyoming advertises "the coolest summer school in America."  Not as in hip, but as in bring-your-parka.

No hardwood trees at all.  The only deciduous trees are cottonwoods and aspens.  Everything else has needles.

Patty it was fun to see who you are.  I also found it funny the speaker you are having is the one I was talking about in the other posting . Don is the aide to my local congressman.  Small world .  Tell him hello from the Drum Barracks and Orange county Civil War Round Table.

Susan, I surely will.  He'll have a nice surprise.

Ain't it grand the way these circles keep expanding and looping back, and I don't mean round tables.
