Thought I would revive this thread, I saw on my dish that Seraphim Falls will abe on Hallmark Channel @ 9PM Nov. 17. Would be a cheap way to see it wont even have to give that video store thier Money or late fee as I never seem to get em back on time.

I did want to watch this again but too much good football is going on at that time to watch it, so I checked the Hallmark website to see what other days they are running it and they will be showing it one more time on December 28 so if you miss it this weekend plan on the Christmas holidays, it is certianly worth a look.

I was finally able to rent the dvd. The scenery, costumes, and camera work were vey good. The acting was good within the confines of the script. The script seemed disjointed and jerky. I dont have a problem with the actors. I try very hard to seperate an actor from their political/ religious stance. I watch a movie first to be entertained second to be challenged be it historical knowledge or belivability of a character or his actions. For instance he Captain never regained the use of his left arm, as in some movies once the slug was removed his recovery would have been complete in 48 hours. Just a little too mystical and redemptive for me. I am a born again christian however if I had followed a man across the county to settle the score for burning my family and home when the final confrontation came I doubt we both would walk away.

You interpreted the ending the way my daughter did. My son and I saw it differently, no redemption, the hatred had destroyed both men who were too far away from civilization and in too bad a shape to make it back. Remember they had given up horses and water (life) to the devil because they were too consumed with the hate (death).

Good point David! Gave me a different perspective. Perhaps a moral point made to not allow our anger to consume us. Thats why I really enjoy this board.
