THose who know me from other boars are aware of my interest in CW letters & diaries.  I have read well in excess of 2000 with a concentration upon the men of the Western theatre.  At one time I had well over 200 transcribed onto my computer.  Then along came a lovely virus and rid me of my collection.

I thought we might share online links on this thread.  These are my favorites:

Johan

For someone who's interested in cw letters, I highly reccommend reading Chicago Battery Boys. Letters home from members of the Chicago Merchantile Battery during the Vicksburg, South Louisiana, Red River Campaigns.

Johan, that virus must have, um, upset you a little.  Did you chuck the computer out the window?  Or jump out the window yoursef?

Were you able to reconstruct your collection?

Patty

Computer is gone... died a slow death hooked to a car battery.

I have a lot of pennance to do for the cursing I was doing.  I lost most of it.  I have one file of jumble bits.  Pretty much worthless.

Just checking to see if you received the email with the pictures. Also, sent you another one with the CDV and MOLLUS of Pinkney S. Cone, Chicago Merchantile Battery.
