JDC,

Try this.....it may not be as extensive as you may want, but I've been reading it for years and I REALLY like it! http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TheCivilWarChronical/

What about this very site you are on, it has a "This Day" in the Civil War page:

http://www.civilwarinteractive.com/ThisDay.asp

Here is a more comprehensive one though:

http://www.civilweek.com/

Steven,

I've been a member of that group for several years now.....It is one of only a very few that have ever really held my interest!!....I'd certainly hate it if that group ever stopped posting!

I especially like when it mentions what the 6th TN Cavalry (Col. Fielding Hurst) was doing....then, I know exactly what my great-great grandfather (Henry V. Flowers, Sgt in the 6th TN) was doing that day!!

Thanks again!!

JDC:

The Week in the Civil War site does have very good information but it is a bear to navigate.  If the information you are looking for is not found in this week or last week the only way you can get to the information you want is to keep paging forward week by week or backward.  Not a very friendly way to users but one of the "bad" way I've found to do it, since the links on the calandar do not work.  It's been that way for years and I don't know why the owner has never made it more user friendly.  Another way to do it is to input the date you want in Google and put the website's name in the search and it should be one of the first links that pops up in Google.

I live in the Austin area, tell them to go to A&M, yes I'm biased but I can take the maroon colored glasses off and say stay away from UT, especially if they are small town kids.
